Amazing view of the storm passing over Krkonoše. This stunning photo was taken by Czech stormchaser Filip Petržílek near Kunčice nad Labem, Czech Republic on June 6, 2020.
“In the late afternoon, intense storms were expected to pass on the axis of Poland, Czechia and Austria. The photographer focused on a cell in Poland north of the village of Bolesławiec, where it showed supracellular features.
Unfortunately, as the storm crossed the border over the Krkonoše mountains, it began to lose strength. As soon as the structure of the storm front appeared in the Broumov Pass, this image was captured with nice line lightning, but overall the lightning activity eased.” —Filip Petržílek
